Burke Mountain is best known for its cold-weather activities, but, come summer, the place buzzes with hikers, mountain bikers and other warm-weather revelers. On Friday, grab a seat at the resort's eastward-looking View Pub deck for a family-style lobster bake. Gaze at the expansive views of the Willoughby Gap and crack through a crustacean or two with all the fixings. Each ticket gets you a lobster, along with andouille sausage, corn on the cob, corn bread and potatoes — and strawberry shortcake to finish.
Lobster Bake: Friday, June 30, 6-8 p.m., the View Pub, Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center, East Burke. $45; reservations required. Info, 626-7460.
