Michael E. Godin, 58, of Essex Jct. died on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

He was born in Burlington on December 12, 1956 the son of Marcel and Lucille (Ste. Marie) Godin. He was a graduate of Essex High School class of 1974. On May 6, 1988 he was married in Essex Jct. to Heidi Dawson. Michael was co-owner and operator of the Green Mountain Inn Bed & Breakfast in Hyannis, MA.

Michael’s pride and joy was his bed and breakfast. He enjoyed gardening, the beach and spending time with his dogs Duke and Jagger.

He is survived by his wife Heidi Godin of Essex Jct.; his daughter, Mercedes Godin also of Essex Jct.; his four brothers, Gary Godin and companion Louise Gagne of St. Albans, Steve Godin and his fiancée Debbie Blechert of St. Albans, Kenny Godin and his wife Charmaine of Bolton and Scott Godin and his wife Cindy of Essex Jct.; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves his best friend and business partner Nick Hemmingway of Essex Jct. He was predeceased by his mother Lucille in 2008 and by his father Marcel in 1978.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Essex Jct. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to American Cancer Society, 800-227-2345 option 2. There will be no visiting hours.
