James Allen, Uncle Jimmy” Derry, age 58, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, in the U-Mass Medical Center after a brief illness A former resident of Alburgh he recently resided in Tiverton, RI where he was attending school and almost completed his final certificate for drug and alcohol counseling.

Born in Oakland, CA in July of 1958, He was the son of Ernest and Eleanor Derry.

Besides his mother he leaves behind three sisters, Victoria, Sandy and Sue; nieces and nephews, Bobby, Richie, Christa, Karen, Brian, Robert, Shane and Shavon; many great nieces and nephews of which he adored; His good friend Bob & his best friend Harley. Waiting to greet him in heaven is his Father,; two brothers, Kenny & Bobby; his nephew Heath; grandfather, Richard and brother-in-law, Dickie. Jimmy’s favorite place to be was on the beach with Harley. He loved spending time with his family and helping out in any way he could.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend John H.D, Lucy will officiate. Interment will take place in the Spring at the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Gifts in James memory may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society and Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans 05478.
