The Mad Doctors, Sleeping In, Baby Lawns, Gestalt, Emmett McCleary

When: Sat., May 13, 9 p.m. 2017

The Mad Doctors’ devilishly titled album, No Waves, Just Sharks, begins with an announcement: “Ladies and germs, we are the Mad Doctors from Brooklyn, N.Y. … We are here to assault your earholes with psycho-tronic fuzz. So sit back, relax and die!” The self-proclaimed “sweaty, bearded rock and rollers” play demonic, surf-inspired, lo-fi jams with cheeky titles such as “Dial M (for Sultry),” “She’s a Psycho” and “Shit Hawks at Blood Beach.” With equal parts kitsch and doom, the Docs prescribe a regimen of sonic fervor and herky-jerky rhythms. The Mad Doctors perform on Saturday, May 13, at the Monkey House in Winooski. Baby Lawns, Emmett McCleary, and locals Gestalt and Sleeping In open.

Price: $3/8. 18+
