Xenia Rubinos

When: Thu., Sept. 1, 8:30 p.m. 2016

Xenia Rubinos is rolling into town, and hers is a show you won’t want to miss. The Brooklyn-based singer just released her second album, Black Terry Cat, which has been praised by both NPR and Pitchfork; the latter calls the collection “all about breaking beyond limitations.” The music is political, soulful and sharp. “Rubinos gets deep inside her psyche on Black Terry Cat,” adds Pitchfork, “as she negotiates a world that has prescribed ideas about how she should be, and questions her place outside of it.”

Price: $10-12.
