Organized youth hockey programs enjoy the spotlight in this month's Kids VT, but backyard rinks are another way that locals get some ice time. The Young Street Rink in Colchester has been maintained by the Young Street community for about a decade. Over the years this patch of ice has become the neighborhood hot spot. Seven Days multimedia producer Eva Sollberger recently interviewed the neighbors involved for an episode of her weekly web video series, "Stuck in Vermont," and enjoyed bonfire, burgers and a tour.
