'The Ultimate Wish'

When: Sat., Aug. 6, 2-4 p.m. 2016

This week, across the state, Vermonters are stopping to remember the August 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States. The Burlington chapter of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom is sponsoring three events to help draw attention to past atrocities, as well as the desire to affect meaningful change to nuclear policy in the future. The last of the lineup, a screening of the documentary The Ultimate Wish, uses archival footage of the bombing of Nagasaki and testimony from survivors of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster to point out connections between nuclear power and nuclear weapons. Power down at the BCA Center for the short film.

Price: Free.
