Rumors have been swirling for a couple of days now that VT's Phinest would be throwing an Irene benefit gig within the next week or so, somewhere in the state. Well, guess what? According to a press release just sent out by Higher Ground Presents, it's on. The band will play the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the show and mechandise sales will benefit the band's own charitable fin, er, arm, the Waterwheel Foundation, as well as the Vermont Community Foundation, in a larger effort to aid the state's ongoing flood recovery efforts.
Tickets are $75 for general admission, and $250 for the "Friend of Waterwheel" package which includes a ticket, a sweet parking spot, a poster and beer, apparently. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, September 10, at 10 a.m. and should be sold out by roughly 10:02 a.m.
Anyway, you can read the entire press release below. And thanks, boys, for lending a hand.
