Tedeschi Trucks Band, the Wood Brothers, Hot Tuna

When: Sun., July 2, 6:30 p.m. 2017

Bassist Chris Wood had a lengthy career in the avant-jazz outfit Medeski Martin and Wood before he and his brother Oliver started their rootsy folk project the Wood Brothers. While MMW thrived on unbridled modernism, the Wood Brothers’ signature sound feels authentically old-time. After a promising debut on Blue Note Records in 2006, the brothers, along with multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, have a healthy crop of albums under their belts. Their latest release, Paradise, is their hardest-rocking effort to date. The Wood Brothers take the stage on Sunday, July 2, at the Midway Lawn of the Champlain Valley Expostion in Essex Junction. They open for Tedeschi Trucks Band; Hot Tuna also add support.
