Long winters in Vermont can be dreary and gray, and residents sometimes find themselves craving color. Abstract painter Steve Sharon fills that need with his joyful neon-colored canvases. Eva spent an afternoon with Steve at the Green Door Studio in Burlington to find out what inspires this drummer to improvise with layers of paint.
You can see Steve’s work at the Vermont Arts Council’s Spotlight Gallery in Montpelier, February 3 to March 27, as part of its "Vermont Artists to Watch 2020" show, presented in partnership with the Vermont Art Guide. His paintings are also on display at the Shelburne Vineyard's tasting room through April 1.
Music: Rondo Brothers, “Touch of Blue,” “Begonia” & “Perfect Things from 1969”
