Today’s popular culture and social climate present plenty of fodder for comedians. Take the recent “Saturday Night Live” parodic commercial for Levi’s Wokes, a fictional type of sizeless, style-neutral, gender-nonconforming jeans — because, as they say in the skit, “Levi’s heard that if you’re not woke, it’s bad.” Vermont sketch comedy troupe Stealing From Work is getting in on the jokes with its new show The Unbearable Whiteness of Being. Written by Angie Albeck and Marianne DiMascio, this adults-only laugh riot pokes fun at contemporary film, culture and political issues — with plenty of local flair.
Price: $15; donations for Thursday.
