Author Stanley Sloan dives deep into this question in his book, Transatlantic Traumas: Has Illiberalism Brought the West to the Brink of Collapse? Citing threats such as terrorism, Russian political meddling and a deterioration of established liberal political values, Sloan considers the future of Western liberal democracy and posits possible solutions to these ongoing challenges. The visiting professor of political science at Middlebury College appears at Phoenix Books Burlington and the Richmond Free Library.
