Many of Vermont’s summer festivals involve tents, but few embrace the camping spirit. At Onion River Music Campout, folks can pitch a tent along the Winooski River, wander walking trails, swim at Paradise Falls and then settle around the campfire for some tunes. OK, that’s understatement: The family-friendly lineup brings nearly nonstop musical entertainment and late-night dance parties — headliners are rock-fusion four-piece Tauk (pictured), funk-soul quartet the Nth Power, party rocker Zion 1 and jazz-hop DJ Logic. Twenty-one supporting acts provide the soundtrack to children’s activities and workshops in yoga, meditation and dance. Go for the day or do it right and spend the night.
Price: $30-50; free for kids 10 and under.
