- Roger J. Benjamin
Roger J. Benjamin, age 84 years, a resident of Meadow Lane died Wednesday afternoon October 22, 2014, in the Northwestern Medical Center with loving family at his side.
Born in Dunham, Quebec Canada on October 19, 1930, he was the son of the late, Joseph Alton Benjamin and Melvina Benjamin Merchant. He was married to the former Rita Beyor who predeceased him in 1971 and then in 1972, was married to Pat Lewis who survives him as a companion.
Roger will be remembered as a master carpenter having worked for Kencliff Construction, Wright and Morrissey Construction as well as building many homes in this and the surrounding areas. In earlier years he had worked as a meat cutter for Kittel's Market. His hobbies included selling baked goods in front of Swanton Rexall, Bingo, hunting, fishing, bowling, but most of all his grandchildren.
Roger leaves his son Larry Benjamin and his wife Arlene; his adopted children of Patricia Lewis Benjamin, Dureen Weston and companion George McGrath, Kevin Benjamin, Kirk Benjamin and wife Christine and Paula Gagne and husband Scott; grandchildren, Joshua Weston, Tina Commo and husband Jason, Nicole Latimer and husband Ryan, Michael Benjamin, Kelly Benjamin, Pattiann Stetson, Travis Stetson, Shawn Benjamin, Lisa Benjamin and Sean Benjamin; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Roger's family extends their sincerest thanks to the management and staff of the Franklin County Home Health Agency for all of their compassionate care.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday October 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family lot in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
