
- Marie Louise McCarthy
Marie Louise McCarthy, age 71 years, died Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the University of Vermont Medical Center with loving family at her side. For the past eight years Marie has resided on Garden Circle in the Franklin Park West community.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on, August 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Francis. and Violet Marie (Sicolo) McCarthy. Marie attended The Catholic University of America and later received her degree from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She worked many years as a Benefits Resource Person for IBM.
Since living in St. Albans, Marie has been a devoted member of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church serving as lector and member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She also served as board president of the Franklin Park Village Homeowners Association, volunteered at the St. Albans Community Justice Center and worked in the cosmetics department at Peebles Department Store. In younger years Marie enjoyed anything that involved singing, dancing and acting.
Marie leaves her brother, Dr. John J. McCarthy and his wife Pam of St. Albans Town; nephew, Brian McCarthy his wife Kristin and their children, Elie, Duncan and Tilly of Swanton; niece, Dr. Laura Griffith her husband Ryan and their son Ryan Jr. of Delaware; nephew, Michael McCarthy his wife Stephanie and their daughter Molly of St. Albans and nephew, Christopher McCarthy of Cambridge as well as many dear friends and extended family. She also leaves her beloved feline companion, Margaret.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 241 Lake St., St. Albans City. Father Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place later at the family lot in Holyhood Cemetery, West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
A reception will follow the liturgy at the home of Michael McCarthy, 113 Bank St., St. Albans City.
Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Saturday from 9 to 10:15 a.m.
