- Gary Arnold Ladieu
Gary Arnold Ladieu, age 59 years, a longtime resident of Fourth Street in Swanton Village died Thursday morning, December 18, 2014, in the University of Vermont Medical Center with loving family at his side.
Born in Saint Albans on December 16, 1955, he was the son of Roger and Marilyn (White) Ladieu. He graduated from Northbridge High School in Massachusetts and attended the Community College of Vermont majoring in computer programing. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Era and attended the American Legion, Post 12, in Richford.
He has been employed for the last several years as a Wire Assembly Senior Technician for Bio-Tek of Winooski. He will be remembered as a talented carpenter who built his house from the ground up. He also enjoyed working on cars and was a fan of NASCAR racing. Gary especially loved his family which included his extended daycare family.
In addition to his wife Theresa of Swanton, he leaves his father Roger Ladieu; mother-in-law, Helen Brewer and her husband Rick; a daughter, Desireah Ladieu Bennett and grandchildren, Isabel and Aubrey Bennett; a son Greg Ladieu and his wife Christina and grandchildren, Gabriel, Kendall, Caleb and Payton Ladieu all of Swanton; siblings, Mike Ladieu of Highgate, Sue Tracy and husband Pat of Richford, Debbie Steinhour and husband David of Richford and Jeff Ladieu and wife Louise of Sheldon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mona LaFontaine, Connie Ladieu, Mary Ann Goyette and husband Carl, Kay Lafontaine, John and Bridget Lafontaine, Dennis and Linda Lafontaine, Michael and Marsha LaFontaine, Lisa Paquette, Terry Brewer, and Gary and Brenda Wright. As well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Gary was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn (White) Ladieu; sisters, Marcia Schneider and Marylou Tracy; brothers-in-law, George Lafontaine Jr., Kelly Todd, Larry Wright; father-in-law, George Lafontaine Sr. and his wife Janice Lafontaine.
A Funeral Service followed by Military Honors will be held Tuesday December 23, 2014, at 7 p.m. at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, The Reverend John H.D. Lucy will officiate. Interment will take place later in the Richford Center Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 until the hour of the service.
