Doris M. Cassidy age, 86 years, died late Thursday evening, June 23, 2016, at the Franklin County Rehab Center with loving family at her side.

A native of the Saint Albans area, Doris and her husband Lee lived in Lincoln, VT for 62 years where Lee managed the Valleymar Farm.

Born in St. Albans on, January 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lillian (Guyette) Root. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and on, June 17, 1950 was married to Lee Allen Cassidy who survives her.

In addition to her husband Lee of St. Albans, Doris leaves two sisters, Marie Root and Betty Desrochers both of Swanton; four brothers, Robert Root and his wife Inez of Exeter, NH, William Root of St. Albans, Roger Root of St. Albans and Ronnie Root and his wife Martie of Essex; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Black and Marjorie Lawrence and a brother, Landon Root.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Kerry Cameron will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Cassidy family lot in the Highgate Center Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
