Dian Hamlin Trayah, age 74 years, a lifelong Burlington resident died Monday morning, December 21, 2015, in The Saint Albans Health Care and Rehabilitation Center with loving family at her side.

Born in Burlington on, February 15, 1941, she was the daughter of Frank Louis Hamlin and Delphine Clara (Myers) Hamlin. She attended Burlington schools and was a member of the Roman Catholic Faith.

Dian will always be remembered as an extremely hardworking, no nonsense but fun loving woman. She raised five boys completely on her own while at the same time working 20 plus years at the former F.W. Woolworth Department Store on Church St. in Burlington.

She leaves her mother, Mrs. Delphine Hamlin of Burlington; five sons, Jeffrey Cross and his wife Germaine of Swanton, Paul Cross and wife Sherry of Alburgh, Harold Cross of Brattleboro, Brian Cross of Barre and Charlie Charbonneau of Middlebury as well as several grand and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 1 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau, pastor of the Champlain Islands Roman Catholic Parish will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
