In March, Runner’s World magazine highlighted 12 half marathons featuring palate-pleasing after-parties. One of these food-and-drink-themed footraces is the Green Mountain State’s own Middlebury Maple Run. Known as the “Sweetest Half,” the annual dash offers scenic mountain views and an epic postrace pancake breakfast prepared by the Rotary Club of Middlebury. Whether they’re tackling the entire 13.1-mile course, splitting the distance with a relay partner or making strides in the first-ever 3-mile fun run, the syrup-soaked spread will give participants extra incentive to cross the finish line.
