The Middlebury Maple Run bills itself as “Vermont’s Sweetest Half Marathon and Relay.” That designation is more than just a saccharine syrup pun. The 13.1-mile race winds through some of the prettiest scenery in the state, from the rolling foothills of Addison County to the quaint streets of picturesque Middlebury. For less ambitious runners, there’s also a relay division as well as a three-mile fun run. The sweetest part? The race is a benefit for several worthy local charities, including ACORN, Habitat for Humanity, WomenSafe and others.
Price: $35-85.
