Praise Jah, reggae fans! Burlington’s weekly reggae night Mi Yard is bringing Kabaka Pyramid to its 10th anniversary party. Born Keron Salmon in Kingston, Jamaica, his stage name is a combination of the Ugandan word for “king” and his desire that his music endure like the Egyptian pyramids. Originally, Pyramid started out as a hip-hop artist. After charting a few one-off reggae and dancehall hits, he gradually transitioned his sound to the smooth blend of reggae, hip-hop and roots rock heard on his 2013 album, Lead the Way. Catch Kabaka Pyramid with his backing band, the Bebble Rockers, on Saturday, November 26, at Nectar's in Burlington. Local DJs Big Dog and Jahson provide support.
