Goat burgerThere's no lack of creativity on this year's Restaurant Week menus. At two popular spots, that outside-the-box thinking extends burgers.

Burlington's Bluebird Tavern's goat burger got its 15 minutes in this week's issue of Seven Days. But that's far from the only reason to try the $35, three-course menu. Seafood options are also notable, including hot oysters with foie gras aioli or butter-poached cod with rock shrimp.

The lamb burger at Kismet comes on a housemade bun with pesto and chèvre, but many of the Montpelier restaurant's most exciting choices are vegetarian on the $25 menu. Appetizers include mock calamari, made with fried oyster mushrooms and served with fiddlehead remoulade. A micro-green salad comes with mock cracklings.
