Leadership in a Connected Age

I'm going to yet another technology-focused conference tomorrow. This one's called Leadership in a Connected Age, and it's at Champlain College. It's hosted by Champlain and The Snelling Center for Government.

Unlike the Social Media Breakfast last week (was that just last week?!?!), this day-long conference is focused on Vermont leaders — activists, entrepreneurs, nonprofit staffers, legislators — and helping them adapt to the digital age.

Some of the usual suspects are presenting at this hoo-ha, including Lauren-Glenn Davitian, Elaine Young, Nicole Ravlin and Dave Gibson. And me. The big guns I've never seen before include Steve Shepard and Elliot Masie.

There are fewer people signed up than came to the SMB — this conference costs more and lasts all day, so it's not quite as accessible — but the group is pretty interesting. I'm curious to see how tech-savvy they are.

Last week, the organizers sent some survey data to help us understand our audience. They asked participants to indicate which web tools they currently use. Looks like almost everybody uses email (almost!), about half or so use Facebook and even fewer use Twitter or blogs. In fact, more people use Twitter than use blogs.

Want to hear how it goes? I'm planning to cover it on Twitter. Click here to follow my updates. And the organizers are using the hashtag #cxage to aggregate tweets, so you can follow that, too.
