The BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont’s Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival promises a day of lakeside revelry — and a little friendly competition — to benefit Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and Dragonheart Vermont. Spectators make way to Burlington’s Waterfront Park where 64 teams composed of breast cancer survivors and community members row canoe-like boats in high-spirited races. When they’re not cheering on the rowers, attendees can partake of adult beverages in the Woodchuck Cider Garden and catch performances by Burlington Taiko, Maiden Vermont and others. Merrymakers 21 and older can get a head start on the festivities at Saturday’s Sunset Dragonfest Dance Party, where the X-Rays’ saxophone-driven songs will rock the dance floor.
Price: Free for spectators.
