People passionate about food and new tech gadgets may want to download EatingWell’s new iPhone application, “Healthy in a Hurry.” For $2.99, it offers a cookbook’s worth of recipes, augmented with luscious pictures and a hearty dose of nutrition info. Wanna whip up a heart-healthy miniature tiramisu or some Japanese beef tataki? Everything you need is at your fingertips as you shop for ingredients.
But be forewarned: The new technology still has a bug or two. Buttons that are intended to isolate chicken, meat, seafood and vegetarian recipes don’t work as well as expected. Touching the little chicken drumstick icon leads to a delicious-looking “Barbecue Pulled Chicken” offering, but also to a poultry-free “Slow-Roasted Cherry Tomato Bruschetta.”
Could the scrawled grocery list become a thing of the past? Only time will tell.
