Wow — Burlington-based Front Porch Forum just snagged a $220,000 grant from the Knight News Challenge. FPF was one of 12 innovative media projects that received $2.74 million in the latest round of awards.
For the uninitiated, FPF connects neighborhoods via email news digests written by and for neighbors. The service is already available in Chittenden County, and in several other Vermont towns — 38 in all. According to the Knight News Challenge press release, FPF founder Michael Wood-Lewis plans to use the grant money to expand throughout the state.
Congratulations, Michael!
