We know Burlington is the greenest town, the most livable and a great place for art. But could the Queen City be among . . . the tastiest burgs in the country? An editor at Food & Wine magazine came in from New York for two days last week to research an upcoming story about small cities on the culinary cutting edge. Associate Editor Emily Kaiser made the restaurant rounds - anonymously - and also visited the Intervale and Shelburne Farms. She packed over two-dozen eating experiences into a little more than 48 sub-zero hours, venturing as far as Waterbury's Hen of the Wood.
Thirtysomething Kaiser is no stranger to culinary adventures. She wrote a story for Gourmet about her post-college experience working as a private chef for a high-ranking family in Provence. "The Count and I" was republished in last year's Best Food Writing anthology. Keep an eye out for the article.
