Emma Cook & Questionable Company

When: Sat., April 8, 8 p.m. 2017

Originally called simply Questionable Company, the Burlington-based trio recently placed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Emma Cook’s name out in front. And rightly so. Cook has a commanding stage presence as she volleys back and forth between keyboard and guitar. The group’s self-titled debut album highlights the trio’s genre-hopping abilities. It fluently flits from breezy bossa nova to sinister blues to wide-eyed folk, never sounding out of its element. Cook’s vocalizations are equally fluid, adding jazzy inflections or a folksy drawl depending on what the song dictates. Catch Emma Cook & Questionable Company on Saturday, April 8, at Foam Brewers in Burlington.
