The Grange Hall in Whallonsburg, N.Y., presents a virtual talk with Katherine Manthorne, who analyzes paintings of the Adirondack wilderness to show how this distinctive terrain pushed Hudson River School Artists to develop new pictorial strategies; and James McElhinney, who unpacks an alternate backstory to how the Adirondacks shaped American landscape art.
