Millennia from now, musical archaeologists studying the evolution of modern rock music may well unearth Dinosaur Jr.’s groundbreaking 1985 debut record Dinosaur and identify it as an alt-rock missing link. With its ear-crushing guitar fuzz, metal-tinged riffage and unique melodicism, the album set the stage for countless bands that would follow, from Nirvana to Radiohead and beyond. In celebration of that album’s 30th anniversary, Dino Jr. rock the Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington on Wednesday, December 2, with Dredd Foole & Sunburned Hand of the Man. Earplugs strongly recommended.
