Located in southeastern Ireland, County Waterford is rich with relics of the past — including its famed megalithic tombs. It is also home to Danù, one of the country’s leading traditional music ensembles. Drawing from the area’s rich cultural heritage, the band reenergizes ancient Irish musical arrangements alongside original material. Anchored by vocalist Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, accomplished musicians seamlessly interweave the sounds of the accordion, fiddle, tin whistle, flute and bouzouki. Known for rousing renditions that range from spirited instrumental numbers to breathy ballads, these masters of their craft take audience members on a journey through time.
