Is it cool to call yourself cool? Is that a label you can apply to yourself? It depends on whether you’re actually cool. In the case of Montréal’s Clark’s Bowling Club, who are just about to drop their debut LP, Cool Kids, the descriptor is definitely acceptable. The funk and hip-hop collective incorporates sick electronic beats, glossy keys, tight bass grooves, buttery R&B and rap vocals, and silky saxophone. The fellas show off their hometown in the video for “Monroe,” which they shot on a rooftop in downtown Montréal. Catch Clark’s Bowling Club on Monday, July 3, at the Light Club Lamp Shop in Burlington.
