You might think that Chris Robinson Brotherhood is basically a glorified solo project for Robinson, best known as the front man for famed American rockers the Black Crowes. While that may have been the case early in CRB’s tenure, recently the group has taken a more collaborative turn. Each of the band’s two previous albums exhibited a shift toward group-think writing and arranging. And their new record, Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel, is truly a collective work. It was born of heady jam sessions in a remote northern California cabin, resulting in the purest distillation of what Robinson terms “cosmic California music” to date. Touring in support of the new record, CRB play this Friday, August 5, at the Rusty Nail in Stowe.
