- Rice bowl at Vergennes Laundry by CK
Chef-owner Christian Kruse announced December 5 on Facebook that Vergennes Laundry by CK is for sale. Kruse purchased the bakery and café at 247 Main Street from founding owners Didier and Julianne Murat in the fall of 2017.
In the Facebook post and an email to customers, Kruse wrote that he had to "make the difficult decisions in the best interest of the business." He continued: "It's been a journey I will never forget but a decision I must make. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support."
Vergennes Laundry remains open for brunch on weekends from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to its website. Efforts to reach Kruse on Monday were not immediately successful.
