A July article in Newsweek reported that, compared to residents in every other state, Vermonters gave President Donald Trump the lowest approval rating. The former reality-TV star got the thumbs up from just 26 percent of Vermonters. In an act of comic defiance of the unpopular president, author Bill Mares and cartoonist Jeff Danziger teamed up to create The Full Vermonty: Vermont in the Age of Trump. This funny yet thought-provoking book includes contributions from notable Vermonters such as former governor Madeleine Kunin, Vermont Life Magazine editor emeritus Tom Slayton and Seven Days writer Sally Pollak. Mares and Danziger launch the political page-turner with a celebration on Thursday at Burlington’s Phoenix Books.

Price: $3.
