On Saturday, truck enthusiasts have two opportunities to get up close and personal with voluminous vehicles. At Big Truck Day at St. Joseph's School in Burlington, kids can get in the drivers' seats of fire, dump and tow trucks. Live music, a bake sale and a raffle round out the event. In Hinesburg, Big Truck Day & Children's Festival includes crafts, face painting, a bouncy house and a barbecue, as well as tractors, school buses and more. [jump]

Athletic types work up a sweat during the 'Move Your Can' Fun Run in Colchester. Proceeds and food donations benefit area food shelves. In Williston, a 1K fun run, 5k walk/run, music and bounce house make for a fun-filled morning of fitness.
Looking for some indoor entertainment? Phoenix Books in Essex hosts a Total Takeover Party to celebrate the Timmy Failure series of detective books for middle grade readers. Kids can pose with a five-foot tall inflatable polar bear and participate in activities, raffles and giveaways.
