Randy George and Liza Cain, owners of Red Hen Bakery — recently relocated from Duxbury to Middlesex — don’t have time to loaf around. The pair is too busy churning out the bakery’s crusty, organic loaves in varieties such as potato, Mad River grain and mountain miche.

The RHB team whips up the dough every day of the week, so shoppers know that their bread, available at numerous markets and co-ops, is always fresh. Chefs like it, too. You can find Red Hen in your breadbasket at premier restaurants such as Hen of the Wood at the Grist Mill, the Kitchen Table Bistro and Penny Cluse.

Driving down Route 2? Don’t miss the chance to check out the Red Hen’s new café. There you can snack on croissant and brioche, Danish and a variety of sandwiches. Soups come from Burlington’s Sugar Snap.
