Give NowECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain — Parents: When you visit public places with your child, do you find yourself repeating the phrase “Don’t touch that!” ad nauseam? At the ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain in Burlington, kiddos are free to get hands-on with interactive exhibits focused on fostering appreciation for the natural environment. Little tykes learn about science using open-ended play scenarios in Champ Lane; teens and adults shape watersheds using an augmented-reality sandbox in the Action Lab; and folks of all ages can view more than 70 species of fish, reptiles and amphibians, and catch educational flicks in the Northfield Savings Bank 3D Theater. More than 100 exhibits, some rotating, make for a fresh experience every visit.
