DELECTABLE EDIBLES
At the Burlington Farmers’ Market, it’s not just about the veggies. Although produce abounds in a gorgeous array of colors, there are plenty of other options. Farmers and food producers line up along City Hall Park’s walkways to proffer handmade artisan cheeses, juicy sausages, European-style breads, gem-colored jars of jam and pungent pickles.
Can’t wait till you get home for a taste of the market? Prepared-food vendors are ready to serve you. Global specialties include Tibetan dumplings, Mexican tamales and African samosas with spicy tomato chutney, along with some delicious Americana: Think home-brewed root beer, juicy cheeseburgers and gourmet donuts.
For goodies you won’t gobble up, stop by the Art Market, which has its own niche at the back of the Firehouse Gallery. There’s pottery, jewelry, paintings, locally made clothing and much more.
