Cold Hollow Cider Mill — Waterbury Center’s Cold Hollow Cider Mill is famous for its apple-cider doughnuts — Gourmet magazine once ranked them among the top four in the country. The warm, wafting smell of these buttery treats greets visitors to the mill’s front counter. The mill began in 1974 when Eric and Francine Chittenden started selling cider to their friends from their farm at the base of northern Vermont’s Cold Hollow Mountains. Warm or cold, their cider recipe still delights tourists and locals alike, all these years later.
