Vermont Vaudeville — Buster Keaton, Bob Hope, and Abbott and Costello are among the big-time comics who got their start in vaudeville. The Green Mountain State has its own stars of the variety-show stage with Greensboro’s Vermont Vaudeville. Formed in 2009, this grassroots theater company presents an original show each spring and fall at the Hardwick Town House and embarks on occasional outings around the state. These gut-busting spectaculars have been known to touch on timely topics and include singing, dancing, juggling, storytelling, sword swallowing and plenty of local humor. Cofounders Rose Friedman, Justin Lander, and Maya and Brent McCoy are among the core cast members, along with a costumed character known simply as Gorilla. Anything goes!
