An Anders Osborne song is like a Carson McCullers novel in miniature: gritty, tender and infused with southern style. That’s why Guitar Player magazine called him the “Poet Laureate of Lousiana’s fertile roots scene.” It’s also why artists such as Keb Mo, Brad Paisley and Jonny Lang have adapted his songs. Osborne writes, sings and, most of all, shreds his guitar with a distinctive fire that’s influenced and inspired by his New Orleans home. But his sensibility makes him an American original. Osborne plays the Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington on Tuesday, February 23, with American Babies.
Price: $20/23. AA
