50th Anniversary Concert by Emory Fanning

Organist Emory Fanning captivates listeners on Sunday with a concert 50 years in the making. Presented by the Middlebury College Department of Music, a noteworthy recital features the professor emeritus in a musical celebration of his half century with the institution. Playing a 1971 Gress-Miles Organ Company instrument that he dedicated to the college, the music man showcases his talent in works by François Couperin, Johann Sebastian Bach and others. Fanning’s wife, Diana, a pianist and Middlebury College affiliate artist, joins him for a stirring performance of César Franck’s “Prelude, Fugue and Variation.”
