Ruth T. Clairmont (Betty) 88, passed away suddenly, September 7th, 2015, at her home of sixty-one years. She was born in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of Dr. Maxwell H. and Gladys (Dunn) Thompson.

Ruth was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph's Academy in Rutland, Vermont, and attended the University of Vermont. Ruth was married to Thomas P. Clairmont, Sr., on September 20th, 1947 and enjoyed many years together in the Lord's vineyard. She loved being with her family, always supporting and attending a multitude of events which her children and grandchildren participated. She will especially be remembered for her loving care and devotion to her husband in his declining years of health. Betty will be greatly missed by all!

Ruth is survived by her three sons: Dr. Thomas P. Clairmont, Jr., and his wife Pamela from Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Stephen T. Clairmont and his wife Sheila of South Burlington, Vermont; Gregory P. Clairmont and his wife Sheila of Colchester, Vermont. Three grandchildren: Travis M. Clairmont, Caitlin J. Clairmont and Paige B. Clairmont, one sister, Patricia T. Brisson of Rutland, Vermont and many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas, her parents Dr. Maxwell H. and Gladys (Dunn) Thompson, her sister, Eileen T. Bolin and two brothers-in-law, Warren F. Bolin and Frederick Brisson.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Richard G. Lavalley on Thursday, September 10th, 2015, 12 Noon, at Saint Francis Xavier Church in Winooski, Vermont. Private family burial will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
