Ronald James Campbell a lifelong Swanton resident died Friday evening June 7, 2013, on his 78th birthday, in the Franklin County Rehab Center with loving family at his side.

Born in Swanton on June 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Raymond and Bernadette (Lauzon) Campbell. He graduated from St. Anne's Academy and on February 8, 1958, was married to the former Raymona Brow who survives him. He was employed with Ayerst Laboratories in Rouses Point, NY retiring after 40 years of service. He was a loving and supportive father who took the time to laugh, play and dance with his children. He will always be remembered for his love of deer hunting and was known to spend the entire hunting season at his deer camp in Rochester, VT.

Ronald faithfully served his country in the Vermont Army National Guard receiving his training at both Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Ft. Benning Georgia. He was honorably discharged as a Captain on March 3, 1973.

In addition to his wife Raymona of 55 years, Ronald he leaves his five children, David Campbell and his wife Wendy of Swanton, Kathie Campbell of Milton, Lori Choiniere and husband Luke of Highgate Center, Ann-Marie Ross and husband Paul of Milton and Ronald Campbell and his wife Lisa also of Milton; grandchildren, Thomas and Shawn Reynolds and Justin Campbell; Kyle Costella; Rosie, Tony, Stephen and Lily Choiniere; Sean and Alyssa Ross; Lexi Boudreau, Raymond Merola III and Ashley and Nathan Campbell; great grandchildren, Olivia and Abigail Reynolds, Audrey and Ben Reynolds; Alexis Choiniere and Kiara Costella. Also surviving is a brother, James Campbell and his wife Nancy of Swanton and a sister, Stephanie Campbell of Morgan Hill, CA as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Rita LaBier and a brother, Donald Campbell.

The family wishes to extend their very special thanks to the amazing staff of Our Lady of the Meadows, especially "Ron's Angels" Sandy, Crystal, Tonya and Gina.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday June 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father Emmanuel I. Ajanma will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Campbell family lot in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
