Roland F. Noel, age 72 years, an extremely hardworking individual and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, died early Tuesday afternoon October 8, 2013, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility with loving family at his side.

Born in St. Albans on October 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Antonio and Simonne (Bilodeau) Noel. He attended the former St. Anne's Academy in Swanton and on May 18, 1963, was married to the former Elizabeth Young who survives him.

For 22 years Roland had been associated with the Saint Albans Cooperative Creamery retiring in 2005. In his earlier years he had also worked for the former Hoods Creamery in St. Albans and the Lucille Farms Cheese Plant in Swanton.

Roland will always be remembered for his beautiful and meticulously maintained vegetable gardens. He also enjoyed his car and going for rides in the country with his wife Elizabeth.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Roland leaves his four children, Roland Noel Jr. and his wife Carla of Swanton, Kevin Noel of Swanton, Michelle Behm and companion Leon Kempton of St. Albans and Nicole Miller of New Port Richey, Florida; seven grandchildren, Angel, Amanda, Kayleigh, Scottie, Brianne, Zachary and Taylor; three great grandchildren, Sapphire, Mark and Lily; two brothers and two sisters, Mary Ann Dashno of St. Albans, Albert Noel and his wife Patricia of Portland, OR, Madeline "Maggie" Belval and friend Mario Marcoux of Essex Jct. and Gerard Noel of East Lansing, MI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Raine, John Young and Norma Symington all of Swanton, Pauline and Robert Blodgett of Dannemora, NY and Elwin and Kathy Young of Webster, NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Roland was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elwin and Elizabeth Young; two brothers, Yves and Charles Noel; brother-in-law, Wendell Dashno and a sister-in-law, Linda Brown.

At Roland's request there will be no calling hours. Funeral Services and Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
