- Peggy Ann Perry
Peggy Ann Perry, age 85 years, died late Monday afternoon January 12, 2015, in the Northwestern Medical Center.
Born in Hyde Park, Vermont on November 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Geddes and Ida (St. Onge) Moran. She graduated from the Loomis Chafee Girls School and later received her BA Degree in Philosophy from Vasseur College.
Peggy began her teaching career at Cornwall Academy in Great Barrington, Massachusetts from 1961 1972. She subsequently taught at schools in Los Angeles, California and Vermont including the Highgate Elementary School. She was also the proprietor of R&J Snack Bar in Highgate Center from 1977 until 1988. Peggy lived her life courageously with Multiple Sclerosis for 50 years, defying doctors predictions that she would never be able to have children or a professional career. She was a very enthusiastic follower of sports and politics and a devoted reader.
She leaves her son, John Perry of Highgate Center; a daughter, Melissa Perry and her husband Shamet of Chevy Chase, Maryland and two grandchildren Justin and David.
Friends may begin to call Sunday January 18, 2015, at 2p.m. at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue Swanton. A time of remembrance will take place at 2:30 p.m. led by Peggys son John Perry.
Friends of Peggy are invited to bring a written passage or page from a favorite book which they will be able to read in remembrance of her.
