Obituary: Patricia Macey Plumb

Patricia Macey Plumb, age 78, died at Birchwood Terrace on Friday, January 15, 2016.

Patty was born October 2, 1937, in Springfield, VT, daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Macey. She graduated from Chester High School in 1955 and was an alumnus of the University of Vermont. She married David W. Plumb, July 18, 1959.

Patty spent most of her childhood on the farm in Andover, VT. She was an Air Force wife of twenty-years with tours of duty at McGuire AFB, NJ; Duluth IAP, MN; Buckley Field, CO; Woomera, Australia and Loring AFB, ME. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Duluth and an elementary school tutor at Loring AFB. She enjoyed bridge and canasta and bowled in a league. She and her family retired to Georgia, VT in 1980. Here she was an aide at Georgia Elementary School and worked for many years at the St. Albans Ben Franklin store.

Patty was an avid knitter and kept friends, family and charities well supplied with decorative scarves. She and her mother were crafters and participated in area craft shows.

Patty is survived by her husband, David, three sons; Stephen and his wife, Gayle, and their daughter, Macey; Scott and his wife, Lisa, and their son, Ethan and daughter, Marin and Seth and his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Audrey; a brother, William Macey, a sister-in-law, Betty Macy and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Macey and sister-in-law, Judith Macey.
