Dorothy Alma Smart, age 86 years, died Saturday morning, December 13, 2014, in the Saint Albans Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Swanton on, March 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Gaylord and Alma (Lambert) Smart. She attended Swanton schools and in earlier years worked for the Softlite Company.

Dorothy’s Roman Catholic faith was her first priority in life and she was a lifelong, faithful parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a member of the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne.

Dorothy leave her cousins, Harriett and Richard Wheeler of Ledyard, CT, Arthurlene and Ronald Provencher of Ledyard, CT, Jacquilene Hancock of Groton, CT and Phyliss Smart formerly of North Hero.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Edmund Smart and by cousins, Edwin and Mildred Atwood and Gerald Smart.

Funeral Services will take place and be announced in the spring.
