David Everette Duprey, Sr., age 72 years, a resident of the Parizo Road died unexpectedly Friday afternoon August 9, 2013, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility.

Born in St. Albans on September 11, 1940, he was the son of the late Abraham and Ines (Robinson) Duprey. He attended schools in St. Albans and on March 30, 1962, was married to the former Barbara Bohannon who survives him.

He was a truck driver and self-employed for many years.

David will always be remembered as a very kind and gentle man, always making himself available to anyone in need and expecting nothing in return. He participated in several bowling leagues receiving many trophies, enjoyed four wheeling, Bingo and especially participating in the LCI Fishing Derby with his son and grandson. He will also be remembered by many in the area for selling his beautiful Christmas trees.

In addition to his wife Barbara of 51 years, David leaves two daughters, Judy Durenleau and her husband Ronnie and Tina Duprey all of Highgate; his son, David Duprey Jr. of Swanton; three grandchildren, Justin Fadden Duprey, Riley Fadden Duprey and Shaylyn Durenleau; a brother Buddy Duprey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jake and Claireta Sartwell of Highgate, Floyd Bohannon of Swanton and Robin Pierce of St. Albans as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents David was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Pierce.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday August 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
